Alex Smith started Alara in 1975 with just £2. He is a pioneer of natural and organic food in the UK and has been actively involved in many organisations and projects promoting sustainability. In 1975, Alex created the first recipe for muesli without added sugar.

Berlin is a hotspot for innovative ideas and projects, not least in the field of new mobility. The Berlin Agency for Electromobility Berlin Partner / eMO is connecting the players and pushes the topic forward.

Bobsla

Since 2018, Tyrolean start-up Bobsla GmbH has developed e-motion on snow on the basis of patented steering. The invention allows creating electric snowmobiles lighter than others, with less energy consumption and a unique feeling of speed. Entering the market, Bobsla focused on niche of snow races – similar to go-karts but on snow without noise and pollution.

Camnexus

Camnexus provides efficient water management and environmental monitoring solution with IoT platform based on low-carbon emission sensing technologies.

Carbonauten

The NET biomaterials of the carbonauten immediately and permanently generate CO2 sinks and avoid aggressive climate gases methane and nitrous oxide. They are cheap and replace and supplement petroleum-based plastics and environmentally critical building materials.

Deutsche Bahn

Everyone at Deutsche Bahn is dedicated to an ambitious climate protection goal: Being climate-neutral by 2050. To reach this, the DB has established successive stages: By 2030 it wants its CO2 emissions to be at least 50 percent lower than the 2006 figure and by 2038, all of the energy in the traction current mix will come from renewable sources.

Mono Tee is a freshly brewed, all-natural product. We consciously avoid any sugars or sweeteners and make sure all our teas are sustainably produced and bottled in Germany and Austria. All tea leaves and herbs, which originate from controlled organic farming, are bottled in environmental friendly packaging.

Mute Labs

Mute-labs is a Berlin based manufacturer of soundproof phone booths for office spaces. Driven by the desire to develop a well designed phone booth that is both affordable yet well designed and manufactured sustainably, mute-labs set out to reinvent the product category.

NIO Inc. is a pioneer in China’s premium electric vehicle market. Founded in November 2014, NIO’s mission is to shape a joyful lifestyle by offering premium smart electric vehicles and being the best user enterprise.

Nix & Kix

Nix & Kix are a multi-award winning soft drinks company founded by Kerstin Robinson and Julia Kessler. The drinks are naturally low in calories, don’t contain any added sugars (the Nix) and instead feature a subtle hint of cayenne for a natural pick-me-up (the Kix).

Notpla is an innovative sustainable packaging start-up based in London. We are a team of designers, chemists, engineers, and entrepreneurs – all with a mission to make packaging disappear. We are pioneering the use of natural materials, such as seaweed, to create plastic packaging alternatives.

Ocean Bottle

With the sale of every Ocean Bottle, 11.4kg of ocean-bound plastic, equivalent to 1000 plastic bottles is collected before it enters the ocean and social mobility improved at the same time. Plastic collectors exchange plastic waste for money or credit via blockchain to access tuition, tech goods, health care, and micro-finance.

Organic Garden AG

Organic Garden AG bundles its expertise and experience in energy production, IT, industry, finance and project management in a convincing digitalized cycle concept that integrates Smart Farming and Industry 4.0 – for resource-saving food production, valuable soil improvement and regenerative energy supply.

Ørsted

The Ørsted vision is a world that runs entirely on green energy. Ørsted develops, constructs and operates offshore and onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage facilities, and bioenergy plants, and provides energy products to its customers.

Ottobahn

Ottobahn believes in green cities without traffic jams, no delayed, overcrowded trains, no people killed in traffic, no CO2 or micro plastics emissions from transportation. We are engineering an autonomous transportation system for people and goods, point-to-point with up to 240km/h.

Sea Arch

Our distilled non-alcoholic spirit is made using traditional distillation techniques. We extract the flavours from each of our natural botanicals, then the alcohol is gently removed. At the first sip, aromatic juniper and bitter grapefruit give a clean crisp taste. Then comes the sweetness and spice of blood orange and coriander.

SOMWR’s first approach is apparel focused. We need to reach beyond sports equipment and into everyone’s daily life. With grassroots mass movements, we make the change. We spoke about our internal tax so, when people get on board with Somwr, we plant mangroves absorbing C02 from the atmosphere and protecting coastal areas from strong waves and weathering.

Specialized

We are riders – that fact has guided our every decision since 1974. When quality tires weren’t around, we strove to make the best. When people wanted to ride cruisers in the dirt, we made the first production mountain bike. When roadies wanted to go faster, we doubled-down on carbon and built our own wind tunnel.

125 years after the company’s foundation, car manufacturer ŠKODA is entering a new era: the ENYAQ iV – celebrating its German premiere at the GTF EXHIBITION – is the first model the brand has developed as an all-electric car. ŠKODA has consistently pursued its vision of making its products and the company as sustainable as possible.

The Drivery

The Drivery opened in March 2019 as a marketplace for mobility innovators to provide the modern infrastructure needed for rapid innovation and as a meeting place for the European mobility community. Now, The Drivery is home to almost 100 start-ups focused entirely on mobility within the European tech ecosystem

The United Kingdom

The UK is home to a plethora of sustainable companies that offer innovative technologies. Recently, the UK completed a 67- day long run without coal power, marking the longest period without coal power since the Industrial Revolution. UK law sets out that by 2050 the country must achieve net-zero greenhouse emissions, and that by 2040 all new cars sold will be zero emissions.

Too Good To Go

In 2016, a group of entrepreneurs witnessed restaurant staff throwing away fresh food. The food’s problem? It hadn’t sold in time, and no one was around to take it off their hands. The group pioneered a seamless solution: an app that lists businesses’ unsold food so local diners can find, buy and enjoy it.

Ursa Robotics

Ursa Robotics is building autonomous electric vehicles for waste collection. Our aim is to revolutionise the waste collection industry and set cities free from the slow, noisy and smelly garbage collection trucks. We are replacing communal bins with fully self-driving containers.

Veganz

Veganz strives to facilitate a plant-based, environmentally conscious lifestyle for everyone by making vegan products more accessible. This aim is expressed in the company motto is “Good for you, better for everyone”.

Vegware is the global specialist in plant-based compostable foodservice packaging.
Our extensive range of more than 300 plant-based catering disposables is all designed to be commercially composted with food waste, where accepted. Our cutlery, tableware, hot and cold drinks cups and takeaway packaging are all made from plants using renewable, lower carbon, recycled or reclaimed materials.

vendi is a peer-to-peer marketplace to buy and sell verified second hand electronic items. The uniqueness in their model relies on a verification service for each product traded between private individuals

Wise Bartender

Wise Bartender is a growing family business launched in 2017, nestled in the heart of the Somerset in the UK! The aim is simple to make alcohol-free drinks as accessible as possible! We now stock the UKs widest range of alcohol free drinks, over 250! As well as being alcohol free many are either vegan, gluten free, low sugar or even isotonic!

Working with Bracenet

Bracenet is a start-up with the mission to save the seas. The Hamburg-based project rescues marine life and preserves ecosystems by recovering ghost nets, upcycling them into products such as bracelets (the Bracenets) or dog leashes by hand, and donating 10% to their partner organisation Healthy Seas.

Xampla

Xampla makes next generation alternatives to microplastics and plastics, from entirely natural plant protein.

Zeigo

Zeigo is a technology platform accelerating the transition to renewables by making the process of buying clean energy directly from generation more transparent and efficient. The platform hosts over 300 projects totalling 18GW and clients include CBRE and Network Rail.
