Brookfield commits up to US$600m to ACME's green ammonia platform in India and Oman

The investment, Brookfield's first in green molecules in the region, backs ACME's green ammonia and methanol projects, including a phased build-out at Duqm. The first phase there already has Yara signed as buyer.

The asset manager Brookfield will invest up to US$600 million in ACME Cleantech Ventures, the green fuels arm of India’s ACME Group, through its Brookfield Global Transition Fund strategy. The money will fund the development and construction of green ammonia and green methanol projects in India and Oman, where ACME is building a phased complex in the Duqm Special Economic Zone. Reuters reported on 17 September that the deal marks Brookfield’s entry into the region’s low-carbon fuels sector.
