MTerra Solar's first 600 MWac enters commercial operation, selling power to Meralco
MGEN and Actis have started commercial deliveries from the first phase of their solar-and-battery project in Nueva Ecija and Bulacan. The grid operator has approved 950 MWac of solar and 825 MW of batteries for connection.
Meralco PowerGen (MGEN) and the investor Actis have put the first 600 MWac of MTerra Solar into commercial operation. The project is a combined solar and battery plant in the provinces of Nueva Ecija and Bulacan, and since 26 August it has been supplying mid-merit power to the distributor Meralco under a power supply agreement. The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has given final approval to connect 950 MWac of solar and 825 MW of battery storage. At full build-out the project is designed for 3,500 MWp of solar and 4,500 MWh of storage.
