The former Berlin-Tegel Airport is making room for Berlin: For a green, livable, and social city. On its 500-hectare grounds, Berlin TXL – The Urban Tech Republic has been founded. It combines a research and industrial park for urban technologies and a new residential district.

Vattenfall, one of Europe’s largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat, is on a mission to make fossil-free living a reality. Their approach is to combine green energy supply with groundbreaking, transformational ideas. Ideas that will fundamentally change transport, industries, and heating.

You can see how this works at the GREENTECH Festival: For example, by having a look at the CLEANEST DIRT BIKE ever. A project brought to life by Vattenfall and its partner CAKE, a Swedish maker of premium lightweight electric motorcycles. The idea here is to create a stunning electric motorbike and remove CO2 from each link in the supply chain while building it.

The more wind turbines age, the more recycling them becomes an issue. Especially rotor blades, with their composite materials, pose a tough challenge. Wings for Living, a young start-up, has an ingenious solution. They simply use old rotor blades’ rugged, high-quality material to make outdoor furniture. So after serving for 25 years or more to supply green energy, the blades can retire as chairs, benches, or tables.

At the GREENTECH FESTIVAL, you can see how good this looks and how much CO2 can be saved by simply giving a complex material a new use.

The easier it is to charge an EV, the more attractive it gets to drive electric. So Wirelane wants to ensure convenient charging with a simple formula: Charge. Pay. Done.

This year, they are exhibitors at the joint stand of the capital region Berlin-Brandenburg (booth S03/S04).
